The Development And Growth Of One 8th Grade Reader

In the start of this year i come in to 8th grade not liking reading because i was a bad reader.so every time it came to reading i will try to do something so i dont have to read. But on september 2nd 2008 i had people that was willing to take time out to work one on one with me, like Ms.shah. Everyday i came in my class when my class was doing independent reading she will take me out of class to help me one on one and help make me get a feel for reading. One day i came in to class and i was told i had to read 50 books before the end of the year . So i had to start some where so i started by reading little books but i never liked them because most of the time i like to read books that can relate to me and my career or what i want to be when i get older. But in about the middle of October i was starting to like reading because the books i was reading. Like the "GAME" by Walter. D. Myers this book is now my favorite book because i can relate to Drew Lawson. Drew was a young teen that lived in Harlem and loved the game of basketball and one day wanted to play for the NBA but his mom and dad never had money to pay for him to go to college where he lives is s bad that he sees teens that are great players that don't make it and just like drew i refuses to become one of them that dont make it. This is why i love reading so much now because i feel like im talking to someone and there telling me there story and sometimes books help me in life. But with the help of the people around me I think im becoming a better reader.

The Development Of a writer!

I think i became a good writer by some book i read. Coming in to 8th grade i was just a simple writer someone who never liked to write much because i never knew what to say till one day someone once told me (MR. Locker)... To just be your self. Write the way you talk and make people feel like they there when there reading your or story.So i did by putting more details in my writing and putting more feelings in to it. There are many ways to write. I don't find writing to be a skill because i feel like writing is just something that your just getting down whats in your mind on paper.But just a better writer is just someone who puts details into their writing and making the reader feel like they where there.One more thing I learned coming up in the 8th as a writer was to use transition words because they help a lot by making your writing sound better and helps the reader feel like they are there.But I feel like just having someone tell me to just be your self and write the way you talk and make people feel like they are there.Just those words help me become so much of a better writer

WHAT WILL BE YOUR ANSWER TO "WHY DO WE FIGHT?"

When we did this essential question we was talking about why do country's go to war. Country fight over lots of things some fight over money some over land or because something that happen in the passed between the country's . One day mr.Locker told us to ask our self why do we fight ?. So I put the essential question as why do i fight?. I fight because it don't take a lot to get me mad . I can't stop my self when i get mad i just can't help it so sometimes it may go on to a fight . I also fight when i don't get my way in life. I fight with my self in life when i do something dumb. I fight when someone try's to pick on me . I think people and country's fight for many reasons but i know one thing and that is this essential question helped me big time in life cause evertime i think about fight now that question always comes back to me and i ask my self why am i about to do this
